Cricket Pitch Construction Diary 2011 & 2012

This diary is being created to give our patrons and viewers a daily account of cricket pitch construction which will be breaking ground in the Spring of 2013. Our mission and journey started in the summer of 2011 (May), were a letter was sent by the President and Founder of Lathrop Cricket Club to the City of Lathrop with a proposal to have a Cricket pitch built. Well, the council accepted the proposal with an open mind, and talks began. During the talks several appearance were made by the LPCL (Lathrop Premier Cricket League) President/Founder in front of the Council members during schedule Town Hall meeting. These meeting were very productive, where LPCL was able to introduce the game of Cricket to the City Council members and show some of the possibilities it would bring to the community, in terms of team spirit building, community building and young talent acquisition and grooming. On September 21, 2011 the City of Lathrop officials unanimously voted and approved the construction of the Cricket pitch. Lathrop Cricket's President and Founder met with the City officials on October 06, 2011 along with the City Architect, Pitch Mason who will be responsible for constructing the pitch and Parks and Recreation Director for site selection. Overall, LPCL is very pleased and thankful to the City of Lathrop and would like to express our gratitude and appreciation for all the hard work and diligence shown to LPCL during the course of this project. The project is moving very smoothly without any hurdles and the experience has been wonderful.
