LATHROP PREMIER CRICKET LEAGUE

Mission/Vision

Introduction to the game of Cricket and advancement of the sport within Lathrop and surrounding communities. Trend setting in domestic, localized County Cricket with enterprise holding, teaching; owning and operating as a self sufficient single entity. Recruitment of local businesses for player/team(s) sponsorship. Empowerment and involvement of community patriotism for Cricket.

Lathrop Cricket Club (LCC) (established. 2011) is presently in its infancy stage. Goal of this Club is to bring Cricket to the forefront, help introduce the art, discipline and build a strong interest in the sport within the Lathrop Community. Lathrop Cricket will be played under the banner of Lathrop Premier Cricket league (LPCL); group dedicated in forming multiple team within the Lathrop Community. This league will conduct inner city tournaments which will include Lathrop GIANTS Cricket, plus formation of additional teams and the under 19 youth Lathrop IX (eleven) Cricket team.

Method to our Madness!!!  LPCL (Lathrop Premier Cricket League) was created for the weekend warrior. Cricket league was founded on the principal that beside playing cricket a person in their adult life has a family with responsibilities and obligations. But, as they say there should be some play involved in life or it gets routine and boring, a balance or medium needs to be acquired. LPCL’s vision and principals are set forth that delegate and promote happy family and healthy living. Our game format is designed for ONLY two to three hours of play each weekend in a multi team setup that play games in a T20 or less (T15) over format. Multi team setup helps rotate teams each week, no one player or team is playing consecutively each week. Another advantage of multiple teams is that the cost per individual is less, compared to a single team format. Plus, each individual gets an equal chance to play cricket and enhance their cricketing skills, share their passion with their fellow team mates and form a brotherhood.  

Presently, LPCL is working with the City of Lathrop to secure a playing field at a local park within the community. The playing field will equip a cricket pitch, suitable for playing cricket. LPCL is very interested in the Mossdale Landing Community Park, location at 700 Towne Drive.

Super 5 Tournament Trophy - Where teams battle in a short boundary ground with 6 players per team and only 5 overs to challenge your opponent and win the game. Each side that bats, after a players scores 30 runs or has played 2 overs that side can and must retire their opening batman (player) and send in a replacement. Retired batsman can be sent in the last over ONLY by the team's Captain, if all out.

LIONS OFFICAL T20 TEAM

Our T20 Team is ready to play its very first twenty (20) over game with Lodi Cricket Club on Saturday October 13, 2012. Lodi is a very strong team, however we are very appreciative of Lodi and their principals for inviting us over for a friendly match. Hopefully, this by lateral relationship builds and creates opportunities in the future, where Lathrop Cricket Club could host a game with Lodi at the Mossdale Landing Community Park. Lathrop Cricket club is looking for all skill levels of players; ages (16 and up) all are welcome. DON'T know anything about Cricket. Well, now is the best time to join a fresh new group that is open to train, teach new comers the art, form and rules of Cricket. We are looking for diversity in Cricket. Lathrop Cricket pitch (Playing ground) is coming soon. Lathrop City Council has approved the construction of a brand new Cricket pitch in the Mossdale Landing Park.
